Information Transmission in Job Interviews - with Boaz Zik

Abstract:

Most job admission processes include interviews. The goal of these interviews is to learn relevant information about the candidates. In these interviews the candidates want to make the best impression on the interviewer, while the interviewer wants to learn information as accurate as possible about the ability of the candidates. It is well established that in such an environment relevant information cannot be transmitted from a candidate to the interviewer.

In addition to interviews admission processes typically include tests that examine the ability of the candidates. We show that by properly merging interviews and tests the interviewer can extract relevant information from the candidates during the job interviews.
